Last winter, the Wilbraham & Monson girls basketball program set a milestone with their first NEPSAC Class C championship.
Next season, the Titans will reach another as the newest team in Class AA.
The program announced the move on X (formerly Twitter) Monday evening. It's an ambitious, three-division leap for the Titans, which will be the 15th Class AA team.
WMA went 24-4 last season and finished on a 15-game winning streak, culminating in a 55-39 win against Brewster Academy. The Titans also made the Class C final with a 22-6 record in 2022-23, representing the two best seasons under coach Durelle Brown.
The 14 teams currently in Class AA include: Northfield Mount Hermon, Tabor, Nobles, Dexter Southfield, Worcester Academy, MacDuffie, St. Andrew's, New Hampton, Rivers, Tilton, Marianapolis Prep, Storm King, Hoosac and Winchendon. Class AA is the smallest division in girls basketball, but also the most talented. Nobles is the back-to-back reigning champion.
WMA will have its work cut out making the eight-team playoffs, but the immediate future looks bright. The Titans are led by Caterina Ravosa (East Longmeadow, Mass.) and Selah Prignano (Newington, Conn.), two Division 1 prospects who landed on our Class of 2026 watch list, along with 2025 wing Hannah Grudzien (Brooklyn, Conn.).
