The fall is commitment season for many top basketball players around New England. We have more than 50 entries into our girls 2026 commitment database, including 20 future Division 1 talents.
The question now becomes... who's left?
A mix of high-major and mid-major Division 1 prospects are still sorting through their options, along with plenty of stars that will find a home in Division 2 or Division 3. We'll keep you updated with the biggest names still on the board as commitments keep making waves in prep and public school circles. This is not my personal rankings — consider it more of a roundup that categorizes the recruiting hype already existing around the elite players. It also does not include incoming NEPSAC transfers.
Here are the 15 biggest names still uncommitted and what we know about them. Be prepared for this list to get outdated quickly.
Remaining watch list members
We've already seen several of our 2026 watch list stars commit to big-time schools. Two even reclassified back up to 2025 and jumped right in with their programs. Three remain as highly-touted recruits with colleges pursuing in droves — that is, until they trimmed down their lists. Here's the latest on these top prospects.
Fope Ayo, Austin Prep
6-5 center
Hometown: Methuen, Mass.
Ayo is the headliner of this 2026 class, ranked No. 34 in the country by ESPN and fifth among pure post players. She has plenty of Power Four programs after her. Miami attended an open gym in early September and made a home visit. Michigan and Florida State were both in attendance at Austin Prep's Sept. 18 open gym and are in the mix. Stanford and South Carolina are also on the docket for visits. All of them remain impressed, not just by her size and mobility as a center, but also by Ayo's demonstrable year-over-year growth. She'll be the most closely-followed commit of this class.
POST PRESENCE: How Ayo's embrace of the tradition position has fueled her rise
Elyse Ngenda, New Hampton
5-10 guard
Hometown: Bedford, N.H.
Ngenda is the class' second nationally-ranked prospect, making the cut at No. 100 on ESPN's list. She declared her top five schools in August: Stanford, Northwestern, Harvard, Columbia and Princeton, all academic powerhouses. Ngenda took an official visit to Harvard this past week and has more scheduled with other schools. But like Ayo, she's at a recruiting stature where she doesn't need to rush her decision. I'd be very confident in Ngenda cracking any of those college rotations immediately.
Brooke Golden, Tilton
6-3 center
Hometown: Chester, N.H.
Golden is whittling things down from more than 20 Division 1 offers. She took an official visit to Delaware recently and has a Northwestern visit lined up. Of the top four available prospects, she might be the closest to a decision, though she also doesn't need to rush anything. Golden's length and athletic traits at her size make her a coveted prospect, and she'll be a pillar for reigning NEPSAC AAA champion Tilton this winter.
Division 1 options
These players just missed the cut for the August watch list and are each still receiving plenty of Div. 1 interest. Most of them, as I've noted, I wrote about recently in our under-the-radar series. They're listed briefly here (I didn't want to be redundant) along with one additional name.
Jill Dingler, Darrow
5-7 guard
Hometown: Storrs, Conn.
Dingler has American and Binghamton for publicized Division 1 offers. She was part of our under-the-radar guards list, which you can find here.
Uliana “Lee” Doronina, Hoosac
6-2 guard/forward
Hometown: Russia
Doronina is one of our underrated forwards in this class. Quinnipiac and Middle Tennessee are among the frontrunners for the Russian wing.
Brooke Nunnally-Gardner, Dexter Southfield
6-0 forward
Hometown: Stoughton, Mass.
Nunnally-Gardner was also part of our under-the-radar series. Her Div. 1 offers include Iona, Cornell, New Haven and Merrimack.
Selah Prignano, Wilbraham & Monson
5-9 guard
Hometown: Newington, Conn.
Prignano is the only member of this section who I haven't written about in a while; I thought she was too good for the underrated series, but she barely missed making my top 10 prospects in the class. She's earned double-digit mid-major offers that include a few schools in the Patriot League (Loyola Maryland, Navy, Lafayette), CAA (Stony Brook, Northeastern) and Ivy League (Brown and Yale), plus UMass, Rhode Island and Quinnipiac. Prignano has burst off the dribble, is a dangerous shooter particularly from the corners and is a real pest guarding all around the perimeter. She averaged 12.7 points and 5.2 rebounds to make our All-Class AA Second Team last winter.
Maddie Provost, Lawrence
5-8 guard
Hometown: Fairfield, Maine
Provost — another underrated guard selection — has quite a few mid-major suitors: NJIT, UNH, Colgate, Sacred Heart, Bryant, Holy Cross, Maine and Stonehill. She recently took an official visit to Sacred Heart and had taken an unofficial visit to Holy Cross late in the summer.
Fringe Division 1 interest, plus some in Div. 2 and 3
These remaining top players are right on the cusp, with some having one or two Division 1 offers. They may also be drawing interest from Division 2 and 3 programs, and as these names tick off with commitments, we'll dive more into the remaining standouts at those levels.
Brynn Bryant, Nobles
5-6 guard
Hometown: Dedham, Mass.
Bryant has generated interest from Division 2 and 3 programs like Babson. I think she'll be one of the top players in NEPSAC who ultimately does not take the Division 1 route. Bryant is regarded among the best perimeter defenders in Class AAA and she can light up the 3-point arc. She's also made tremendous strides as a playmaker off the dribble, which will come in handy with her ascending to a featured role at Nobles.
Izzy Cruz, Loomis Chaffee
5-8 guard
Hometown: Stafford Springs, Conn.
Cruz scored her first Division 1 offer from Central Connecticut State in July and just took an official visit. She's been biding her time in a dominant Loomis Chaffee program while being part of the Pelicans' four-peat run. Cruz is a physically tough point guard and a stellar 3-point shooter. I'm excited to see what her role looks like with tons of minutes up for grabs this season.
Chloe Egan, Berkshire
5-10 guard
Hometown: Cotuit, Mass.
I included Egan in our underrated guards list. She's a player I'm personally higher on, though she doesn't have a Division 1 offer yet.
Celia Neilson, Bishop Fenwick
6-0 guard/forward
Hometown: Beverly, Mass.
Neilson has received offers from Le Moyne and Loyola Maryland and will be among the best players in MIAA this winter. She's a fascinating player who will run the point at Bishop Fenwick, but has played more on the wing in AAU and likely will in college. Neilson is super strong and overpowers opponents at this level. She doesn't have a traditional lead guard's handle or explosiveness, but her footwork is remarkable, her touch around the rim is consistent, and she's a phenomenal cutter.
Bleu Kerr, St. Mark's
5-9 guard
Hometown: Mattapan, Mass.
Kerr's easy, gliding athleticism and pull-up scoring make for fun highlights and takeover sequences when she heats up. She recently landed a Division 1 offer from Manhattan and has another from La Salle, along with Div. 2 interest from Bentley. I'll be interested to see if St. Mark's can take a step forward as a program this winter, but the team has solid cornerstones with Kerr and our next player.
Cortney Howell, St. Mark's
6-2 guard/forward
Hometown: Boston, Mass.
Howell also received a La Salle offer in Division 1 along with her St. Mark's teammate. She's also generated interest from schools like Assumption, Barry and Mercy. Howell is more of a raw prospect, but the intrigue lies in her ability to handle the ball and shoot 3s at her size. If she grows more consistent with her skills, she could be a quality find for these programs.
Sarah von Dohlen, Greens Farms
5-8 guard/forward
Hometown: Westport, Conn.
Von Dohlen just scored her first Division 1 offer from Manhattan a few weeks ago. She is a rock-solid 3-point shooter off the catch, and it opens up driving lanes that she's confident attacking. I like how von Dohlen doesn't shy away from contact and keeps her head up to make passes when she does drive. She'll be a leader on a Greens Farms squad I expect to make noise again in Class B.
Five more names to monitor: Camryn Dunn (Groton/Hollis, N.H.), Charlotte Jasmin (Hartford/Hartford, Vt.), Maddie McCaffery (Tilton/Merrimack, N.H.), Kailey Sullivan (New Hampton/Foxboro, Mass.), Summer Warren (Brooks/Canton, Mass.)
