We finally have enough regular season games to give the NEPSAC Girls Power Rankings a meaningful update.
By now, almost every team has started its season, and most have played big games that set an early standard. Most programs are in the Wednesday-Saturday rhythm, aside from holiday showcase games, which means you'll be seeing regular rankings updates early in the week.
The top three teams are unchanged, but several teams in the top eight have shuffled, some resulting directly from head-to-head matchups.
We also have two new teams joining the list. Let's get to the rankings.
1. Tabor (2-0)
Previous ranking: 1
Next game: vs. BB&N, Dec. 11, 3:30 p.m.
The Seawolves cruised to 51-point and 61-point victories against Putnam Science's second team and St. Mark's as the hosts of the Girls Hoops Series Winter Classic. Tabor should roll through the early portion of its schedule and has done nothing to cast doubt on its top ranking thus far.
2. Nobles (3-0)
Previous ranking: 2
Next game: vs. Northfield Mount Hermon, Dec. 11, 5 p.m.
Nobles earned the first signature win of its NEPSAC title defense on Saturday, beating Tilton at home in a rematch of the Class AA championship game. Christina Pham (South Boston, Mass.) is off to a scorching start, having scored 21 points and 27 points in the Bulldogs' last two games, respectively. Wednesday should be another great test before Nobles hosts the Nickerson Showcase.
EARLY STATEMENT:Â 7 standouts from Nobles' win against Tilton
3. Tilton (1-1)
Previous ranking: 3
Next game: at St. Andrew's, Dec. 11, 3 p.m.
Though the Rams lost a game they surely wanted badly, they still were competitive with Nobles throughout most of the 76-65 defeat. Tilton opened with a blowout win against Worcester Academy, so the Rams are definitely a top-tier squad. They do have a tough schedule upcoming though, including a Dec. 18 road game at Tabor.
4. Northfield Mount Hermon (3-0)
Previous ranking: 7
Next game: at Nobles, Dec. 11, 5 p.m.
NMH scored two big wins against Wilbraham & Monson and Darrow as host of its season-opening tournament before taking down Winchendon in the Girls Hoops Series Winter Classic. This team with eight transfers has built some fast chemistry, led by postgrad Grace Minihane, returning junior Olivia Fleming (Windham, N.H.) and several other talented guards. Wednesday will be a reality check for if NMH truly belongs in the highest tier of contenders.
5. New Hampton (1-0)
Previous ranking: 6
Next game: vs. St. Paul's, Dec. 11, 2:30
The Huskies have only played one game, but it was a big one: a 55-54 road win against AAA foe Dexter Southfield. Elyse Ngenda (Bedford, N.H.) scored 20 points, signaling her continued growth into one of NEPSAC's top prospects. New Hampton will head to Virginia to play in the She Got Game Showcase this weekend before returning for Nickerson.
6. Loomis Chaffee (0-0)
Previous ranking: 5
Next game: at Ethel Walker, Dec. 11, 2:30
There isn't much to say about Loomis yet – the Pelicans haven't played a regular season game. Dropping a spot isn't any sort of indictment on the team. I expect them to be 3-0 for the next rankings.
7. Wilbraham and Monson (4-2)
Previous ranking: 8
Next game: vs. MacDuffie, Dec. 11, 6 p.m.
Somehow, the Titans have already played six games. They lost in the NMH Tip-Off Classic to Northfield Mount Hermon and lost the championship game of the Hill School Tournament to Notre Dame de Namur. However, WMA also has quality wins against Dexter Southfield and Worcester Academy. They're about where they should be as a Class AA title contender.
8. Dexter Southfield (2-2)
Previous ranking: 4
Next game: at Winchendon, Dec. 11, 4:45
It's been a challenging start for Dexter, which dropped its game against WMA by seven points and its latest loss to New Hampton by one. A combination of the injury bug and a tough opening schedule have tested this young team. Senior Megan Roche (Millis, Mass.) tore her ACL before the season began, then 2027 starting guard Sam Barton (Reading, Mass.) suffered a serious knee injury against the Huskies (recovery timeline TBD). Dexter can rebound with Wednesday's game against Winchendon before heading to a tournament in Arizona.
9. St. Luke's (1-0)
Previous ranking: NR
Next game: vs. Holy Child, Dec. 11, 3 p.m.
We could look in so many directions for Class B's top team currently. I'm giving the slight edge to St. Luke's after the Storm dismantled Taft, 65-41, in their season opener. Olivia White, a 2026 guard who I believe will have a breakout winter, posted 18 points, and star guard Camdyn Nelson (Greenwich, Conn.) added 15 points. We'll see if St. Luke's can build some momentum as other Class B foes try to match them.
PROSPECT WATCH: Why Nelson is one of New England's top guards
10. Rivers (1-1)
Previous ranking:Â 10
Next game: vs. Groton, Dec. 11, 5 p.m.
Rivers dropped a 50-41 game to Darrow — a team I do have my eye on for future rankings — but I'm not too concerned about the Red Wings' overall place in Class B. They beat Mount St. Charles in their season opener, 70-56, with Princeton-bound senior Grace O'Sullivan (Acton, Mass.) racking up 20 points, 11 rebounds, 6 assists and 2 blocks. Several of Rivers' upcoming games are against solid in-class opponents, giving the team a chance to cement itself as a frontrunner.
On the radar: Austin Prep, Berkshire, Darrow, Newman, Suffield
