This was an important spring and summer for me in getting a full picture of the 2027 class as prospects. My main takeaway is that this class is radically different from the 2026 group, which makes it fun to follow.
Our 2026 watch list was all about post player dominance. Only one appears on this list (though I’ve got some risers on the back burner). Instead, the skill among the guards and wings is remarkable, and it made for some extremely tough decisions. To give you a peek behind the curtain: I have my own private rankings and tiers in my notes, and one tier comprises my No. 8 through No. 21 players. A lot of the separation still requires splitting hairs.
Two players make new appearances on this watch list. You can read more about my thought process in the 2026 watch list; it’s similar for this class, but I give a bit more room for athletic potential, though I want to see some translation to on-court production at this point. We have three new names on this watch list update. But importantly, that doesn't mean I'm lower on the players I moved off — just that a couple of prospects here had particularly huge breakout summers.
Here are our top 10 prospects in the 2027 class (plus five honorable mentions), listed alphabetically.
MORE WATCH LISTS: 2026 girls
Alannah Baehr
Suffield/CBC, 6-1 guard/forward
Hometown: Colchester, Conn.
Baehr was a prime breakout candidate in our spring AAU preview following her strong sophomore year at Suffield. She delivered, shining just about everywhere I watched her and picking up offers from a handful of schools including Providence, BU and Quinnipiac. Baehr showed off her scoring touch at her size with a bunch of mid-range and 3-point shooting highlights. She sees the floor at a high level and can help lead an offense. Most importantly, I thought Baehr leveraged her length on defense and caused a ton of problems for opponents helping and rotating. She's an impact player now with still a ton of upside as she gets stronger.
Gracyn Barnes
Worcester Academy/Bay State Jaguars, 5-6 guard
Hometown: Grafton, Mass.
Barnes gets the edge in a great group of point guards who make up a cluster of this class. She scored her first two Division 1 offers from UNH and Stony Brook and was one of my favorite players to watch all summer. Barnes is super quick and applies constant pressure on both ends of the floor. She's great at getting to floaters and layups on drives, she's comfortable making high-level passes in pick-and-roll, and she can catch fire on the perimeter off the catch. Worcester Academy graduated a few important guards from last year's NEPSAC AA championship squad, and I'm excited to see how Barnes steps up as a lead option.
Kendra Foy
St. Luke's/iBelieve Elite, 5-10 guard
Hometown: Bethel, Conn.
Foy makes her debut on our watch list as perhaps the group's best pull-up scorer. She's a quick-twitch athlete with a tight handle who is comfortable getting to her spots at all three levels. Scoring is definitely her signature skill right now, but I've seen some sharp passing flashes, and she has the tools to be a frustrating defender when she's dialed in. Foy had a monster grassroots season on the recruiting front with nine offers so far this year, highlighted by Fairfield, Rhode Island and Stony Brook.
Daniella "DD" Harcourt
Darrow/Albany Lady Stars, 6-4 center
Hometown: Colonie, N.Y./Nigeria
This might be a surprising addition because Harcourt has flown far under the radar locally (also, for the record, we're going to lump in Darrow as "New England" because it's a NEPSAC school). But she's generated notable Division 1 interest from schools like Morgan State, Quinnipiac, Sacred Heart and UIC — even Navy would have offered, though Harcourt cannot attend because she's not a U.S. citizen.
The reasons: Harcourt has special strength and mobility for her position. She moves her feet very well and there's a lot of promise for her being able to defend on the perimeter. She can lower her shoulder and overpower opponents scoring around the basket. A lot of her game is still raw, but the athletic tools are there and she's improving very quickly. The region's 2027 class doesn't have the post player depth like 2026, but Harcourt is one important name worth monitoring this winter.
Corinne Lomax
Tabor/Rivals, 6-0 forward
Hometown: Watertown, Conn.
Among many folks I’ve chatted with during AAU season, the vibe around Lomax is generally, “People don’t realize how good she’s going to be.” I agree, and so do colleges like Memphis, Fairfield, Harvard and UMass, who extended offers. Lomax is a devastating driving scorer — I’ve used the running back comparison before — with some great touch on floaters and short jumpers. She’s slowly coming along as a 3-point shooter as well. I’m a big fan of her defense because her length adds an extra dimension to her guarding multiple positions or causing chaos in help. Lomax might have a massive NEPSAC breakout in store.
Gabby Middleton
Newman/Bay State Jaguars, 5-10 guard/forward
Hometown: Stoughton, Mass.
Middleton picked up a few more mid-major Div. 1 offers this summer from Iona, Stony Brook, Marist, BU and Siena, and I imagine it’s because coaches don’t see many players with her size/handle/scoring touch combination. I like seeing her playing more physical and attacking the basket. We know Middleton has some tricks with stepbacks and longer shots, but I think her mismatch potential with her strength and touch around the rim is important long-term. She’ll be a focal point in Newman’s second year as a program, and I think she has a better runway for success.
Anna Moser
Hoosac/Philly Rise, 5-8 guard
Hometown: Rutland, Vt.
The scouting report remains similar with Moser but it’s no less impactful. She is just an incredible perimeter scorer. That includes more stepbacks and off-dribble buckets than I knew she was capable of. Moser is also getting more confident driving and pulling up for a mid-range shot or making the right kick-out pass. I want to see her get stronger and better at finding layup chances, but she’s going to be one of the best returning offensive players in NEPSAC. Moser's offers this spring and summer include Buffalo, Fordham, Penn and Saint Joseph's.
Zariah Ottley
Northfield Mount Hermon/Bay State Jaguars, 5-7 guard
Hometown: Rockland, Mass.
Ottley plays a jack-of-all-trades shooting guard role at NMH; we saw her as more of a floor general with the Bay State Jaguars, playing up a year on the 2026 Under Armour squad this grassroots season. I took note of Ottley’s power and speed combo at her size, which helped her create advantages off the dribble even against tough guard matchups. Her scoring bag when she gets into the 5-10-foot areas around the basket is fun to watch. Ottley added a few mid-majors to her offer list, including Sacred Heart, Iona and Towson.
Bella Owumi
Tilton/MCW Starz, 6-0 guard/forward
Hometown: Lynn, Mass.
Owumi, as I said on our AAU recap podcast, has been the single biggest trending name in New England. We already knew she was an elite talent regionally, but her debut at No. 32 on ESPN’s national 2027 rankings made a serious statement. Owumi made the cut in the Overtime Select summer league, where she has held her own this month against some top national stars, and dominated playing up a year on the AAU circuit. Now she’s at Tilton, where some believe she’ll be NEPSAC’s best wing from day one. Keep following her star rise.
Lucianna Parrotta
Sacred Heart/Rivals, 6-0 forward
Hometown: Armonk, N.Y.
We didn't see a ton of Parrotta this spring and summer because for part of it, she was off playing for Puerto Rico in the FIBA U16 Americup in June. Parrotta averaged 10 points, 8.3 rebounds and 2.8 steals in the tournament, with the highlights including 20 points, 12 rebounds, five assists and four steals in a win against Panama on June 22.
Those games tracked with what we know about Parrotta. She's a versatile, high-motor wing who rebounds and plays impactful defense. Parrotta also excelled with Rivals on the Adidas circuit (8.4 points, 4.4 rebounds, 1.4 steals, 1.4 blocks) with the 16U team and briefly earned 17U promotions. She added offers from Manhattan and Fordham.
Five more names to know: Naya Annigeri (Medfield/Medfield, Mass.), Tiffany Burns (Austin Prep/Methuen, Mass.), Javonah "Juice" Coston (Beaver Country Day/Boston, Mass.), Izzy Kittredge (Nobles/Medfield, Mass.), Jacylah "LaLa" Goode (Loomis Chaffee/Derby, Conn.)
