Holiday breaks are approaching, but we've had a ton of great basketball at all levels of prep school to start the winter season.
This week's stars range from Division 1 college basketball commits at two top-10 NEPSAC programs, down to younger prospects at smaller schools who have started the season on fire.
Coaches and players are encouraged to report stats and scores so players can be considered. They can submit nominations by emailing Ethan Fuller at ethan.fuller@basketballjournal.com or by messaging him on Twitter/X (@ethman43).
Here are this week’s five prep standouts:
Ava Ayotte, Mount St. Charles
Class of 2028, 5-5 guard
Hometown: Burrillville, R.I.
Ayotte is quickly making a name for herself as one of the best sharpshooters in the region's freshman class, leading Mount St. Charles during a 2-1 week. She drilled six 3s in Wednesday's 72-57 road win against Austin Prep to finish with a team-high 22 points. Then Ayotte scored 16 points during the Mounties' 54-49 win vs. Greenwich Country Day in the Rose Classic.
Ashley Dinges, Nobles
Class of 2025, 6-0 forward
Hometown: Haverhill, Mass.
NCAA: Providence
Nobles earned the biggest win of any team last week, downing Northfield Mount Hermon, 50-42, in a matchup of our second-ranked and fourth-ranked squads. Dinges continued her stellar start to the winter with 18 points.
Grace O'Sullivan, Rivers
Class of 2025, 5-11 guard/forward
Hometown: Acton, Mass.
NCAA: Princeton
O'Sullivan was instrumental to two Rivers wins this week. First, she posted 14 points, seven rebounds and four assists — plus this ridiculous half-court shot — to help the Red Wings defeat Groton, 47-39, on Wednesday. Then O'Sullivan followed with 24 points, eight rebounds and three steals Friday in a 59-39 victory vs. St. Mark's.
Lily Sokol, Rocky Hill
Class of 2026, 5-9 guard/forward
Hometown: Middletown, R.I.
Sokol registered two double-doubles in a 1-1 week for the Mariners. She posted 14 points, 14 rebounds and four steals in a 51-31 loss to Vermont Academy. Then Rocky Hill bounced back with a 53-26 win against Williams behind Sokol's 24 points, 17 rebounds and four assists.
Summer Warren, Brooks
Class of 2026, 6-0 forward
Hometown: Canton, Mass.
Brooks earned its first win of the season in thrilling fashion, beating defending Class B champion St. George's in overtime, 56-52. Warren led the way with 18 points, nine rebounds and two assists. Teammate Jules Giordano also deserves a shoutout for her 18 points.
Other notable performances:Â Dana Hall's Koharu Tanaka tallied 25 points in a win against Montrose and 16 in a loss to Lexington Christian. ... Aisha "Oushy" Salem Hassan racked up 18 points, 10 rebounds and five steals in a dominant, 77-25 win against Holy Child. ... Berwick's Ella Smith helped secure a 64-62 win against Brewster with 26 points, six assists and five rebounds. ... Ava Egan went a perfect 6-for-6 behind the arc en route to 20 points in Newman's 55-50 win against Kent.
