Now that we're back in the swing of prep basketball, we're returning to spotlight the region's weekly standouts.
In the past week, we saw an improbable buzzer-beater in a Class AAA showdown. Some of NEPSAC's top talents also gave us massive scoring nights that led to a few statement victories.
Coaches and players can submit nominations by emailing Ethan Fuller at ethan.fuller@basketballjournal.com or by messaging him on Twitter/X (@ethman43).
Here are this week’s five stars:
Elyse MacDonough, Worcester Academy
Class of 2025, 5-8 guard
Hometown: South Burlington, Vt.
NCAA: St. Bonaventure
MacDonough exploded for 34 points on Friday, powering the Hilltoppers to a statement 76-61 triumph over Rivers. Worcester Academy cracks our Top 10 for the first time in part due to MacDonough's effort.
Elyse Ngenda, New Hampton
Class of 2026, 5-8 guard
Hometown: Bedford, N.H.
Ngenda's buzzer-beating putback layup, capping a 15-point comeback win against Dexter Southfield, is the NEPSAC play of the 2025 calendar year so far. She scored 20 points in the contest.
Lucianna Parrotta, Sacred Heart
Class of 2027, 6-0 guard/forward
Hometown: Armonk, N.Y.
Parrotta was key to a pair of Sacred Heart wins. She posted 10 points, six rebounds and five assists last Wednesday against Hamden Hall, then stepped it up with 21 points and nine rebounds Monday vs. Masters.
Caterina Ravosa, Wilbraham and Monson
Class of 2026, 6-2 forward
Hometown: East Longmeadow, Mass.
The Titans needed a big win to get back on track, and Ravosa helped bring it. She scored 27 points in a 62-58 victory over Greens Farms. Ravosa said postgame it was the first time she has ever beaten the Dragons in five years at WMA.
Sammi Santacroce, Suffield
Class of 2026, 5-7 guard
Hometown: North Haven, Conn.
Santacroce continues to shine as a lead guard on the Tigers. She most recently posted 24 points in Saturday's 75-52 victory against Taft.
