The MIAA girls regular season ended with a bang.
We saw our Top 10 take a serious shift amid a host of February break tournaments. Because of the unusual schedule with these weekend tournaments, this week's 5 Stars really encompasses the last two weeks, to give us a clean break before the playoffs begin.
This is also our last week of 5 Stars awards for MIAA. But don't worry — we'll have a lot of postseason coverage to fill the upcoming weeks and beyond.
Here is the final batch of honorees.
Stella Criniti, Lexington
Class of 2025, 5-7 guard
NCAA: Skidmore
Criniti reached the 1,000-point milestone in thrilling fashion, using a 35-point performance to lead Lexington in a narrow, 58-55 victory over Belmont last Thursday.
Jenalis Mercado, Snowden
Class of 2028, 5-6 guard
Mercado earned Boston City League Tournament MVP honors for leading Snowden to a runner-up finish. She exploded for 41 points to take down New Mission in the semifinals, then scored 27 in the championship loss to O'Bryant.
Paige Meda, Bourne
Class of 2025, 5-6 guard
In a 4-0 stretch for the Canalmen, Meda logged three games of 20 or more points, including 32 vs. New Bedford. Against Old Rochester, Meda used 25 points to take over as the program's all-time scoring leader. She also earned MVP honors at the Winterfest Tourney.
Jenna Mishou, Archbishop Williams
Class of 2026, 6-2 forward
Mishou had a massive two weeks that included: 20 rebounds, seven blocks and four steals against Arlington Catholic, 34 points against Wilmington, 36 points against Weymouth and 21 points against Hingham. The last performance helped the Bishops clinch a state tournament bid and also win the Weymouth Invitational.
Kailey Sullivan, Foxboro
Class of 2025, 5-8 guard
Sullivan provided the two highest-scoring efforts in the girls games at the Board 27 Comcast Classic, with 31 points against Medfield and 27 against Bishop Feehan — both huge Foxboro victories.
Other notable performances:Â With the extended time between multiple weeks, there are simply too many standouts to list them all here succinctly. But of the three I'd like to note, let's start with Pentucket's Amelia Crowe. Crowe hit a half-court shot and scored 18 points against North Reading, then tallied 32 points in the Spartan Classic against Newton North. ... Blue Hills freshman Sarah Michel logged three double-doubles last week, including 32 points and 12 rebounds in a victory over Wareham. ... O'Bryant forward Melissa Cuevas earns props for leading the Tigers to the City League title with her 19-point, 22-rebound outing in the championship game.
