Due to a shortened week leading up to Saturday’s state tournament bracket reveal, we decided to extend the final MIAA 5 Stars of the Week to include games from the final 11 days of the regular season to give us a smooth runway heading into the playoffs.
It made choosing this week’s standouts that much harder.
There were a lot of performances to choose from throughout the state, from players shining at February vacation tournaments to seniors looking to cap their careers with a bang. One of them was almost impossible to believe.
While this is the final 5 Stars of the Week in MIAA this winter, be on the lookout for plenty of postseason coverage, beginning with Saturday’s bracket reveal.
Let’s dive into the last group of stars, from games played Feb. 10-20.
Isaiah Andino, Methuen
Class of 2025, 6-1 guard
Andino’s big week started on Sunday, when he posted 15 points, seven rebounds, six assists and two steals in a victory over Salem, and he took off from there. He scored 38 points in Tuesday’s win over Concord-Carlisle as he was named the Patriot Classic MVP. A day later, he scored 33 points – including 31 in the first half – against Woburn to become the fourth boy in Methuen history to reach 1,000 career points.
Owen Boudria, Westport
Class of 2025 guard
Boudria makes his second consecutive appearance on our 5 Stars of the Week as he continued to light up the nets. He scored 33 points in a victory over Holbrook before going off for 41 points in an overtime victory over Carver.
Ethan Day, Revere
Class of 2025, 6-0 guard
Ready for possibly the wildest performance of the season? Day needed 65 points to reach 1,000 career points heading into his final high school game – and he got it. Day scored exactly 65 points with 10 rebounds, and somehow even added five assists as Revere beat Northeast Voke in the consolation round of the Patton Tournament at Hamilton-Wenham. Day finished the job in dramatic fashion as he hit the milestone on a floater with seconds remaining, according to the Revere Advocate. Day became the third player in school history to reach the 1,000-point mark.
Ian Piper, Holland School of Technology (Burke)
Class of 2026, 6-3 guard
Piper scored a game-high 25 points to go along with 12 rebounds to lead Holland (formerly Burke) to a Boston City League championship win on Thursday over Boston English. Holland has now won three of the last four City League titles, and are the likely No. 1 seed in the Division 4 state tournament.
Alan Shi, Brookline
Class of 2025, 6-11 center
Shi has been a dominant force all winter for Brookline, and that continued to finish a strong regular season. The McGill University commit had 33 points, 15 rebounds and five assists to lead the Warriors over Framingham before averaging 22 points and 14 rebounds over two games at the Spartan Classic as he was named to the all-tournament team.
