The sophomores of New England’s Class of 2028 have not yet reached the June 15 contact period for college coaches to reach out to them. But you better believe these prospects’ phones will be lighting up when it comes.
This region’s class is starting to take a larger shape. Several recruits have already been nationally-ranked, and many more names in this group are already recognizable. Point guards and scoring guards comprise most of the top talent we’ve seen from the 2028 class, but there are intriguing versatile wings and bigs who have great potential here.
Our Best of New England series began with rankings for the 2026 and 2027 classes. But since the 2028 class is still relatively early in its development and recruitment journeys, we’re rolling out watch lists first. These are names that should be on college coaches’ radars now. Later this year, this will evolve into rankings.
Here are 25 boys prospects to watch in New England’s 2028 class, listed in alphabetical order.

Ranked No. 30 nationally by 24/7 Sports, White continued to look destined for a high-major school with offers from Indiana, Louisville and Northwestern. The New Jersey state record holder for most points in a single season by a freshman, White was Brewster’s third leading scorer as just a sophomore in the high-level Nike EYBL Scholastic. His quickness and ability to read the game at a high level stand out.
NOTES: Brewster's Kevin Wheatley, who's ranked No. 28 nationally by 24/7 Sports, didn't appear to play this season, so I didn't include him. But he's certainly a name to watch. ... Other 2028 names I'm keeping an eye on: MacDuffie's Darien Rudder, CATS Academy's Braylon Washington and Tilton's Salim Diaby.
