This was an important spring and summer for me in getting a full picture of the 2027 class as prospects. My main takeaway is that this class is radically different from the 2026 group, which makes it fun to follow.
Our 2026 watch list was all about post player dominance. Only one appears on this list (though I’ve got some risers on the back burner). Instead, the skill among the guards and wings is remarkable, and it made for some extremely tough decisions. To give you a peek behind the curtain: I have my own private rankings and tiers in my notes, and one tier comprises my No. 8 through No. 21 players. A lot of the separation still requires splitting hairs.
Two players make new appearances on this watch list. You can read more about my thought process in the 2026 watch list; it’s similar for this class, but I give a bit more room for athletic potential, though I want to see some translation to on-court production at this point.
Here are our top 10 prospects in the 2027 class (plus five honorable mentions), listed alphabetically.
