The best of MIAA boys basketball got busy during winter vacation.
Holiday tournaments took place throughout the state last week, which gave players an opportunity to shine on a unique stage. Several of the week’s top performers took home tournament MVP awards, including some who posted career-best efforts.

Here are 10 stars of MIAA boys basketball from Dec. 26 to Jan. 4.
Brody Bumila, Bishop Feehan
Class of 2026, 6-9 forward
NCAA: Texas (baseball)
One of the best baseball pitching prospects in the country, Bumila continued his dominance on the hardwood as he led Bishop Feehan to the Larry Fisher Holiday Tournament championship. He earned tournament MVP honors after posting 24 points, 16 rebounds and four blocks in the title-clinching victory over then-No. 2 Bridgewater-Raynham. He followed that with a 23-point, 11-rebound effort in the Shamrocks’ win over Arlington Catholic on Jan. 2.
Jaydaan Correia, Cambridge
Class of 2026, 6-4 guard
After posting 20 points and 10 rebounds in a semifinal win over Natick, Correia followed that up with 26 points and 12 boards in an upset win over then-No. 6 Attleboro to lead Cambridge to the Cambridge Legends Classic crown. He was named the tournament MVP.

Matt DaSilva, Milford
Class of 2027, 5-10 guard
DaSilva erupted for a career-high 51 points in Milford’s 97-81 win over Burncoat at the Scarlet Hawk Holiday Invitational. That broke Milford’s single-game points record and it’s the highest reported single-game total of this MIAA boys basketball season.
Ethan Elie, Braintree
Class of 2026, 6-1 guard
Braintree won the Adams Holiday Tournament championship behind an MVP performance from Elie, who tallied 34 points in a semifinal victory over Concord-Carlisle before scoring 25 in the title-clinching win over Belmont.
Caleb Haynes, Brookline
Class of 2027, 5-11 guard
Haynes produced the most impressive stat line of the week, going off for 38 points, 10 assists and seven steals in Brookline’s dominant, statement 87-56 victory over Portsmouth, our No. 1 boys team in New Hampshire. He also tallied 17 points, four assists and six steals in a victory over Boston Latin.
Jacob Lok, Oliver Ames
Class of 2026, 5-7 guard
Lok continued his stellar senior season with 25 points, 10 assists and five rebounds in a victory over Cardinal Spellman before dishing out 13 assists in a win over Dighton-Rehoboth to win the Muscato Tournament. Lok was named MVP of the tournament for the 6-0 Tigers.
Amarian Lopes, Greater Lawrence
Class of 2028, 5-8 guard
Lopes was one of the best guards at the Commonwealth Motors Christmas Classic, displaying his high-level speed, change of direction and feel for the game in leading Greater Lawrence to a fourth-place finish at the tournament. Lopes made big plays to seal an opening-round win over Methuen, and scored 19 points in a loss to Andover. He was named to the All-Tournament team.
Javi Lopez, Central Catholic
Class of 2026, 6-1 guard
Lopez solidified his status as the best boys player in MIAA basketball as he was named the MVP of the Commonwealth Motors Christmas Classic. He averaged 30 points, seven rebounds and three assists across Central Catholic’s three wins to claim the title. He scored 31 points in just three quarters in the Raiders’ semifinal win over Greater Lawrence before scoring 33 points in the title game, which included 17 in the first quarter.

Josh Roux, Andover
Class of 2027, 6-0 guard
Roux averaged 25.7 points per game as he was named to the All-Tournament team of the Commonwealth Motors Christmas Classic. That included a 28-point performance in Andover’s third-place game victory over Greater Lawrence, where he hit six 3-pointers.
Niles Scott, Methuen
Class of 2027 forward
The big bruising forward cleaned up underneath throughout the Commonwealth Motors Christmas Classic. He averaged 20 points and 10 rebounds over Methuen’s three games, including 22 points and 10 boards in a comeback win over Lawrence. He was given the tournament’s Ted Boudreau Sixth Player award.
