Last week was the first near-normal week of MIAA basketball as schools returned from winter break.
Because we're back in the Tuesday-Friday routine, we're seeing many of our local stars build their cases with multiple big outings in a week. That being said, two of this week's recipients posted such monster nights, they simply had to make the list.

Here are this week’s five standouts:
Kat Cheesebro, Dartmouth
Class of 2025, 5-8 guard
It feels like every time Cheesebro gets tested, she exceeds the moment. Most recently, it's evidenced by her 39-point barrage against Bridgewater-Raynham on Friday, including 14 in the second quarter.
Peyton DiBiasio, Saugus
Class of 2026, 5-7 guard
During her 27-point performance in Thursday's loss to Masconomet, DiBiasio became Saugus' new all-time scoring leader. She continued getting buckets Sunday, tallying 19 points in a 58-40 victory against Dracut.
Effie Giannopoulos, Notre Dame (Hingham)
Class of 2025, 5-10 guard/forward
The Cougars had a few players post big-time scoring games, but none greater in the last week than Giannopoulos, who racked up 32 points and seven rebounds Tuesday against Archbishop Williams. Giannopoulos then logged a double-double (12 points, 10 rebounds) in Thursday's win over Ursuline.
Chisom Jones, Boston Latin
Class of 2027, center
Jones put the team on her back Friday against Waltham, scoring a whopping 36 of Boston Latin's 44 points in a 44-43 victory.
Kailey Sullivan, Foxboro
Class of 2025, 5-8 guard
Sullivan caught fire for 35 points and six assists on Tuesday to power Foxboro's 76-53 win against King Philip. She then scored 22 more in a blowout win Friday over Stoughton.
Other notable performances:Â Swampscott freshman Anna Kanders continues to impress, putting up 30 points and seven rebounds in Tuesday's 57-31 win over Lynn Tech. ... Chelmsford's Julia Haverty scored a career-high 20 points to lead the Lions in a double-overtime thriller against Andover on Tuesday. Half of them came in the extra frames of the 59-51 victory and were critical in keeping 7-0 Chelmsford undefeated. ... Frankie Spadorcia gave Braintree a massive double-double (17 points, 20 rebounds) in Friday's win against Framingham. ... Norwell star Maddie Oliver kept the Clippers rolling by averaging 18 points and 11 rebounds in two wins. ... Muji Vader collected 24 points and 11 steals in a convincing win for Minuteman against KIPP Academy.
