
The theme in the NHIAA boys’ basketball scene over the past two weeks? Upsets.
Though top-ranked Portsmouth has continued steamrolling through Division 1 without any hiccups, Bedford, Trinity and Bishop Guertin each had their lengthy winning streaks snapped over the past 14 days. The same was true in the Division 2 ranks, where No. 10 Manchester West finally stumbled.
As the postseason nears at the end of February, the picture in both Division 1 and Division 2 has become increasingly clear: Unbeaten Portsmouth and Hollis-Brookline are the title favorites in their respective leagues, but there is a formidable mix of challengers behind them.
