Abdou Toure, a consensus four-star recruit and one of New England’s top prospects in the 2026 class, announced his commitment to Arkansas on Friday.
Toure chose Hall of Fame head coach John Calipari and the Razorbacks over New England finalists Providence and UConn. Alongside friends, family and coaches, he made the announcement inside his home basketball gym at Notre Dame West Haven High School during a special school assembly.
The 6-foot-6 Toure is the highest-ranked 2026 New England prospect in several national rankings lists – including No. 31 on ESPN and No. 37 on 24/7 Sports. A two-time state champion at Notre Dame and last season’s Connecticut boys Gatorade Player of the Year, Toure is one of the most athletic prospects in the country, making him tailor-made for the SEC.
Calipari has a long history of sending his players to the NBA – 62 over his career, including 43 first-round picks – and Toure has said that has been a big part of the coach’s pitch to Arkansas.
