This fall is an opportune time to jump in on a 2027 wing and forward group that might be underrated in general.
The class' maturation from sophomore to junior year means many players have opportunities to shine in larger roles. College coaches will want to be first to check in on these coveted archetypes at the wing, forward and center spots, and local fans will want to know the possible breakout names for next winter.
Like with our 2026 wings/forwards spotlight, these players don't typically dominate the ball or rack up buckets. The theme among many: perimeter shooting, plus team defense and an ability to confidently step up when an open shot is there. We have a mix of prep and public school standouts on this list and a mix of future Division 1, 2 and 3 talents. The only restriction is that they could not have already appeared on our 2027 class watch list.
Let's take a look at some names you should be prepared to hear a lot more.
