The wolf of Worcester is heading to West Virginia.
Amir Jenkins, one of the best point guards from New England who blossomed this winter into one of the top floor generals in the country, announced on Tuesday that he has committed to West Virginia. Jenkins, who took an official visit to WVU last week, will reclassify from the 2026 to 2025 class and join the Mountaineers for the 2025-26 season.
Jenkins, the Worcester Academy star, is the 11th commitment for new West Virginia head coach Ross Hodge, who took the job in March. Jenkins visited Providence last Tuesday, but WVU allowed him the opportunity to join the program and begin his college basketball career sooner than expected.
“The right school is family-oriented,” Jenkins told New England Basketball Journal last month about what he was looking for in his college destination. “I want to feel like I’m at home, and I want to play my type of basketball, I want to fit the style of play, like I want to go to a school that’s going to fit my style of play and I’m going to help them win. I just want to win at all times.”
