WEST ROXBURY, Mass. — BABC is rolling into July.
Leo Papile’s 17U and 16U squads cruised to victories at Saturday’s annual Boston Shootout, which was hosted by BABC at Catholic Memorial. A shorthanded 17U squad played one game, pulling away for a 96-80 victory over Rhode Island Elite, while the 16U team grabbed convincing wins over Rhode Island Elite and IMBK (Bridgeport).
It was the last time BABC competed in the Boston-area this spring; the 17U team improved to 34-0 as it continued its run as one of the best grassroots teams in the country, and the 16U team went to 33-5. Both teams will head to the Adidas 3SSB Palmetto Road Championship next month in Rock Hill, S.C., as high seeds in their respective age divisions as they eye national titles.
The 53rd edition of the Boston Shootout featured five AAU programs from the region during a seven-game slate. While BABC was dominant, there was a good mix of talent from the visiting teams. Here are 10 standouts across the 17U and 16U divisions.
