Another top recruit from New England is heading to play at Duke.
Sebastian Wilkins, one of the best prospects from the region, announced his commitment to the Blue Devils on Friday afternoon. The 6-foot-8 forward from Canton, Mass., chose Duke over Maryland, and said he’ll be reclassifying from the 2026 to the 2025 class, meaning he’ll begin his college basketball career next season.
Wilkins’ commitment comes less than two months after Maine native Cooper Flagg – the likely No. 1 pick in next month’s NBA draft – led Duke to the national championship game. Wilkins, a standout at Brewster Academy and the Mass Rivals AAU program, will join a star-studded freshman class under head coach Jon Scheyer that also includes Cameron and Cayden Boozer.
Duke’s recruitment of Wilkins came suddenly and impactfully. The Blue Devils offered him a scholarship on April 18, and he visited on the first weekend of May. Just a few weeks later, he committed to the storied program.
