ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. — The Atlantic City Showcase brought much of New England's high school basketball present under one roof and under the microscope of college coaches. It also gave me the chance to check out some of the next wave.
As I bounced around the 30-plus courts in the Atlantic City Convention Center, I carved out time in my schedule to check out some of the top 2028 prospects in attendance. Some were playing up on 2027 rosters, while other led their 2028 age groups.
Though the 2028 class has so much time left to grow, live period weekends like these are a quality test with the stakes bumped up a bit. And quite a few 2029 youngsters impressed playing up on 2028 (and even older) teams. As with my other standouts lists, I'll add the caveat that I only write about what I see, which means I'm bound to have missed some strong performances. But these classes still gave me plenty to think about.
