We're only halfway through the high school careers of the 2027 class, but the skill level in the group's top tier is impressive.
Most of these stars are already lead options or valuable complementary contributors on winning teams. They include guards who can get buckets on and off the ball. Some are wings who can run an offense or solidify a lockdown defense.
We include 10 names in our watch lists, but I went back and forth on several decisions. I'd consider our additional "five names to know" in the same tier and extend the list of candidates to about 18 total players. I explain some of my thought process in our 2026 watch list. The 2027 class has more time to grow, so I favor potential a bit more — though production and current ability absolutely matter. And of course, expect this list to change as players develop and I continue learning about them over the summer.
