Wachusett junior Jae Scott is shy by her own admission. Her game has always spoken louder than her words.
But this year, Scott was thrust into a co-captain role on a team that needed her leadership. She developed the external confidence to match — and it took her to grand heights.
Scott was the engine of a stunning bounce-back year for the Mountaineers after losing the 2023-24 MIAA Division 1 state championship in heartbreaking fashion. She averaged a 20-point double-double (20.7 points, 10.2 rebounds, 2.1 blocks) and powered Wachusett to a 24-1 record and its first-ever state title. Scott punctuated the championship run with one of the greatest efforts in girls state final history: 31 points, 14 rebounds and a game-winning layup with three seconds left in a rematch against Bishop Feehan.
In a winter season defined by the stardom of the 2025 class — ten seniors appear on our All-MIAA girls teams — it was Scott who owned the spotlight by March.
