Division 5 typically brings an element of chaos to the state tournament. This year delivered.

This was the only division without a No. 1 seed in the semifinals after ninth-seeded Lee upset top-seeded Hopedale in the second round.

Then, in the final, Hoosac Valley repeated as champion — but not without a heated battle against Renaissance that incited several technical fouls and disqualifications.
