Full schedule for 2025 MIAA basketball championships

The MIAA basketball championship schedule is set.

Over three days this weekend, from March 14-16, 10 state champions will be crowned – five each for boys and girls – at the Tsongas Center in Lowell, Mass. The action starts with two championship games on Friday night, then four on Saturday and Sunday.

The weekend is packed with championship games that feature star power and exciting rematches. On the girls side, Bella Owumi and top-seeded St. Mary’s (23-3) will face Maddie Oliver and No. 3 Norwell (23-1) for the Division 3 title to kick off the action on Friday night.

The most exciting girls matchup of the weekend will come in Saturday’s nightcap, when No. 1 Wachusett (23-1) takes on No. 2 Bishop Feehan (23-2) in a rematch of last season’s Division 1 championship game. Feehan won in last year’s title game, 48-40, for its second championship in program history.

On the boys side, No. 20 Old Rochester (15-9) became the lowest seed to advance to a state final in the MIAA’s new statewide format after upsetting top-seeded St. Mary’s on Tuesday night, and the Bulldogs will face undefeated Norwell (24-0) for the Division 3 crown on Friday night.

Sunday will feature a must-see doubleheader to close the weekend. Matt Gaffney and No. 1 Malden Catholic (22-1) will look for its fourth consecutive title when it faces No. 6 Somerset Berkley (23-1) for the Division 2 championship in a rematch of last season’s semifinals. Championship weekend concludes with an exciting Division 1 matchup, as Caden Sullivan and No. 1 Franklin (25-1) face Teagan Swint and No. 3 Newton North (24-1) for the title.
