Saturday’s NEPSAC boys semifinals includes a slate of tantalizing matchups featuring rematches and the best teams in the regions. There will be teams looking for some revenge on top of the high stakes that this stage brings.
It makes predicting these games so difficult. But when it comes to making picks for these playoffs, I’m off to a hot start.
Forgive the quick victory lap. In Wednesday’s quarterfinals, I correctly predicted 13 of the 16 matchups from Class AAA through B, but where I really surprised myself were the score predictions. In a handful of games, I was only a few points off. My prediction for Cushing over Lawrence Academy was an 83-68 score. The actual score was 81-67. My prediction for Kimball Union over Northfield Mount Hermon was 72-68. The actual score was 70-68. My prediction for Phillips Exeter over Milton Academy was 77-67. The actual score was 76-64.
Not bad, right? Let’s see what I can do for an encore. Here are my predictions for Saturday’s semifinals.
