The Bentley University women have established themselves as a force in Division 2 basketball. With a 24-1 record and the No. 4 ranking in the latest WBCA coaches’ poll, Bentley isn’t just winning. The team is overwhelming opponents with a deep roster, unselfish play, and laser-sharp focus on the next game — not the big picture.
Starting wing Maggie Whitmore and starting forward Kylie Ducharme, who both stand at 6 feet, bring incredible size to their team's frontcourt and have become forces in the paint.
Whitmore has emerged as Bentley's go-to scorer with her smooth shooting stroke and fearless takes to the hoop. The graduate student from South Portland, Maine, leads the team in scoring, averaging 12.6 a game on 45 percent from the field and 34 percent from beyond the arc.
Ducharme is a nice complement who continues to grow as a player. She averages 11 points on 46 percent shooting from the field, 37 percent from three and 86 percent from the line. Ducharme also leads the team in rebounds, blocks, and steals, making a huge impact on the defensive end.
