WORCESTER, Mass. — Another weekend, another prep showcase.
A weekend after dozens of the top prep teams in New England competed at the Zero Gravity Prep Classic, some of the same teams continued their seasons at Holy Cross this weekend for the Scholar Roundball Classic, an annual showcase run by New England Recruiting Report.
The three-day event featured some of the best teams in New England, and a few – like Blair Academy (N.J.) and Perkiomen (Pa.) – that rank among the best in the country. Many college coaches, most of them local, were on hand to watch the action, which was split between Holy Cross’ main basketball arena, the Hart Center, and the school’s practice court down the hall. It’s a fantastic facility.
I attended the event on Friday and Saturday, and kept tabs on it from afar during Sunday’s finale. There were several standouts, and I had a few other takeaways. Let’s dive in.
