STOUGHTON, Mass. — Fifty-seven games are in the books, and there’s a lot to unpack.
Over three days this weekend, teams from across New England and several from outside the region traveled to the Dana Barros Basketball Club for the annual Zero Gravity Prep Classic. For many teams, it marked the beginning of their seasons and the event represents something of a tip-off for the prep basketball season.
It was my first experience not only covering the Prep Classic, but also going to Dana Barros. And it was a great chance for me to see a lot of teams I haven’t watched play yet. I went for all three days, running around the facility to see as much as I could – which wasn’t easy with three games almost always playing simultaneously. But I left on Sunday night with a lot of thoughts.
From surprising teams to first impressions to some unfortunate injury news that will almost certainly impact the NEPSAC playoff race over the next three months, here are 10 takeaways from the Prep Classic.
