On a weekend filled with dozens of games at the Zero Gravity Prep Classic – the largest early-season showcase of the prep calendar – Newman met the moment in a matchup of the top two NEPSAC teams. The Cardinals, No. 2 in our latest power rankings, knocked off top-ranked New Hampton, 83-71, after pulling away in the second half.
The win improved Newman to 9-1 this season as it handed New Hampton (8-1) its first loss of the season. The game counted towards both the NEPSAC Class AAA and NEBL standings. Here are 10 takeaways and standouts from the matchup.
