Amir Jenkins is one of the fastest rising prospects in New England, and now he’s taking his talents to the international stage.
Jenkins, a 6-foot-1 guard at Worcester Academy, was selected to play on USA Basketball’s men’s U18 3x3 team that will participate in the FIBA World Cup in Hungary next week. He’s one of four players chosen for the men’s team, which also includes Kingston Flemings, Nikolas Khamenia and Bo Ogden.
A rising junior and native of Worcester, Jenkins helped lead Worcester North to back-to-back MIAA state championships – which included a stretch of 45 consecutive victories – the last two seasons before announcing in April that he was transferring to Worcester Academy as he looked to challenge himself against NEPSAC competition.
Jenkins was one of the biggest stock risers in the region this spring while playing for BABC’s 2026 squad on the Adidas 3SSB circuit as well as a strong showing at the NEPSAC showcases in June. He received several Division 1 offers – including Providence and George Washington – and there’s certainly more coming. Jenkins is one of the most dynamic guards in New England, with an explosive first step and quick twitch movements that make him a nightmare to defend.
